My 1974 VW Beetle needs repair after an accident. Where can I find a workshop in Bristol to fix it?
Damage is at the front of the car and my insurance company said that as a classic car that I need to take to a garage working on old cars and can estimate the cost of repair. I have been trawling the Internet, but still no joy. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you very much!
Classic means it is a certain age group and historical style is no longer in production. Insurance companies are only interested on one thing and that's the bottom line (for them). No internet. You have to "go walk" (personally) do not do this by phone or net. In person. No one calculates, without seeing. So either ask around with friends who does a good job (the body and frontal damage) or go to the most expensive painting workshop in the city. We all have one that is "expensive" and either drive the car there or take pictures if you can not drive (who would prefer to see first hand) to make a accurate estimate. "At this point, you have to act like sheep" or "dumb" "Your choice. You are at their mercy. They know the steps. "I need a written estimate to fix it. "is what they say. You will be asked (is it an insurance claim or your pocket) It seems that there is a difference. Do not ask me what. Tell them safe and let them believe. Get writing. Go to another quality shop. (Because surely he wants to at least 3 estimates, if not 4) Is the same routine that the first store. Choose the most expensive in the stores (or those who know quality work out) – note that they all have to shut down at least the same quality. I went to 6 stores (or 7?) and damage to my new just out of the showroom car ranged from $ 800.00 to $ 3500.00. Of course I selected the 4 best offers high that I felt that the boys must have missed something low in his estimation and "now speed up work" to make money as its bid was too low. Because which is involved in the estimate. These estimates are what the insurance company saw and said it was okay. Whichever you choose. (Since there were only a couple hundred dollars difference between them. So I went to the most expensive place. I also leave the store knowing I am a painter, ending (which means I can see if they make a careless rush job and I will refuse, because I'm not satisfied … you have some rights). If that made the difference, does not know …. But perhaps did not think this is a work of settling and I would be happy. It was excellent. Bodyshops Everyone can do this work. The VW dealer usually has its own paint shop (and are one of the most expensive). Maybe you could be the best option. Asking about other drivers of other vehicles, regardless of brand as it is a good paint shop and you will get a variety of opinions but reduced to a few.
